God has shown up again

It’s a new day and God has shown up again, He always shows up and that’s the miracle of His grace. Doesn’t matter where we are or what we do, He‘s there. How blessed are we to know that despite whatever happens, God is there and He is with us, He is always there, and that’s what gives us the confidence to face the way forward.

I was asked recently in an interview, “what was the best thing about being a Christian,” and it got me thinking because I guess, I just live every day without giving much thought to its benefits.

The truth is, the best thing about it, is that God makes me what I’m not; and I guess it’s the same for you.

There are lots of times when I’m faced with something that’s bigger than me, or, I tell myself that I can’t do that. There are other times when the wisdom needed is more than I’ve got, but in every situation, God shows up, God always shows up. At those times I just sit back and say, “only God”.

As Aylene and I assume leadership of the territory today, our confidence is in the God who has always showed up in the past and so we know He will do it again.

“As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you or forsake you.”
Joshua 1:5

An appropriate quote from the Preface of “Spiritual Leadershop” by Blackaby, H & Blackaby, R
“According to the Bible, God is not necessarly looking for leaders. He is looking for servants (Isa.58:16, Ezekiel 22:30). When God finds men and women willing to be molded into his servants, the possibilities are limitless. People are looking for someone to lead them into God’s purposes God’s way. They need leaders who truly believe God will do what he says. People will folllow [and be guided by] spiritual leaders who understand God’s agenda and who know how to help to move them onto it.”

As my former Divisional leaders, you both demonstrated grace, and visionally leadership which revealed “God’s purposes God’s way”.
It is a joy to welcome you to your new roles, confident that you will build further enlarge and further strenthen our Triune God’s kingdom!!!

With my warmest regards – God Bless you both! LynnJ

It really is great everyday when ‘God shows up’!
Or, does He call us to his Kingdom work, and to the potential splendour of each new day and each new life situation, then He waits for us to turn up? He is already there! We have to decide if we want to make the effort to respond, meet Him there, etc, perhaps?
I like the catchy colour of your new blog banner. Really grabs attention as you open up TSA homepage. More importantly, it was great to see that you ‘showed up’ to work and blog on your first day!!
Looking forward to leadership of you and Aylene, and of Peter & Jenny as well.
    Blessings and prayers!
(Keep showing up on TC Speak)

Thank you for the beautiful reminder of God’s provision for us daily. I enjoy to be surpised by the faithfulness and timelessness of God, the steadfast love of the Lord never changes, His mercies never come to an end, they are indeed new every morning, and I say with the songrwiter, Great is Thy Faithfulness O God. I depend on that each day and I have proven it each day, is the same reality for you and Aylene…be assured of continual prayer.

    • June,

Do our readers know that you are the celebrated June Purdy who, in your younger days as a journalists, interviewed Cat Stevens?

Lovely to hear from you dear friend.

      Regards,

I was really blessed by your blog about God ‘showing up’, thankyou. Thinking about it while out walking, I wondered – is it that God ‘shows up’ or is it that he’s always there and we just have to place ourselves where he is? Years ago, I did a study called ‘Experiencing God’ by Henry Blackaby, and in it I learned that God is always at work around us and that we just have to join him. That’s what Jesus did (John 5:19-20). I have never forgotten it, and it makes every sinlge day an adventure with God! Thankyou also for reminding me that: ‘God makes me what I’m not’. I am SO grateful. What a wonderful great and mighty God we serve! May God bless you and Aylene richly as you continue to serve him.

    • Hi Shirley,

Just discovered you did not receive my reply to your comment. It’s good to hear from you again, thank you for taking the time to post.

Henry Blackaby is a beautiful author and like you, I have come to value his work for what he says to my own spirit.

You are a wonderful woman of God with a snsitive ministry or prayer. You are a gift to those you serve.

      Bless you.

I am certainly glad that God is always there for me. I was privileged to see God at work in the lives of our Junior Soldiers in the WA division today. We were able to spend a wonderful time of fun and fellowship with each other, along with thanking and praising God for all his goodness. We have some wonderful young people in our army and to when I hear their prayers I have no doubt that God is at work in their young lives.
