I cannot escape the reality that whoever we are or where ever we are in the world, we form a global family. Perhaps the implications of Jesus statement ”love your neighbour” and the subsequent response, “who is my neighbour,” is much broader than we ever imagined.
The inescapable fact remains that we are all family, we are part of a common humanity. I understand border protection issues, but when people are suffering, someone needs to respond, someone needs to help and someone needs to accept some responsibility.
Refugees are part of our family and so to the deserted, the marginalized, the unemployed, the destitute, the homeless, the addicted and so on. We are family, and you might like to think about what more can be done to support them in the community in which you live.
