Reality Of Prayer

Now tell me that this does not inspire your spirit. From his book, Reality Of Prayer, Bounds says.

“Prayer is no petty invention of man, a fancied relief for fancied ills. Prayer is no dreary performance, dead and death-dealing, but is God’s enabling act for man, living and life-giving, joy and joy-giving. Prayer is the contact of a living soul with God. In prayer, God stoops to kiss man, to bless man, and to aid man in everything that God can devise or man can need. Prayer fills man’s emptiness with God’s fullness. It fills man’s poverty with God’s riches. It puts away man’s weakness with God’s strength. It banishes man’s littleness with God’s greatness. Prayer is God’s plan to supply man’s great and continuous need with God’s great and continuous abundance.”

These books are availabale today and they will inspire your heart, mind and soul.

Thanks again for another good snippet from E M Bounds. Did you know that you can purchase these books all put together in one volume? I was at our local Christian Bookroom today and came across it (and bought it!) It is called E M Bounds The Classic Collection on Prayer. It has all the books in it which you have been quoting from. It looks like I have a bit of reading ahead because put together it is a 750 page book but I’m sure it will be worth the effort to read and I’m sure that I will be inspired to get even deeper into prayer. It is a Paperback volume and I paid about $23 for it on special. Thought that your readers may be interested to know this. Still keep the gems coming on your site though as not everyone is going to go out and buy the book. Thanks for pointing us in the right direction about prayer and the important part it plays in the life of the Christina.

  2. Val, it’s a great book and I think contains three of the books we have looked at this week. In my view, Power Through Prayer is his best. I love the book and his writing is inspiring.

Thanks for your contributions this week. The prayer posts finish on Monday.

The Book has eight of his books in it and you have used four of them this week. I have read Power through Prayer before as I’ve had it for many years but I’m looking forward to reading all eight. He is truly an inspiring writer. The book has an Author biography at the beginning and that was an inspiration on its own. He was truly a remarkable man.

  4. Val, can you post details of the book along with where you purchased it, others might be interested to get hold of a copy, including me. Can you also tell us how much it cost, people are always interested in the cost.

The Book is called: E M BOUNDS The Classic Collection ON PRAYER
“Man is looking for better methods, God is looking for better men. Man is God’s method.” The Power Of Prayer
I purchased my copy at the Greensborough Christian Book Store and paid $22.95 for it on special so I guess the price is under $30 normally. I would imagine that it would be available at most of the good Christian Book places such as Koorong. Bridge-Logos Orlando, Florida are the Publishers
Internet site quoted on back cover is bridgelogos.com
Trust his is helpful. I’ve only got through a short part of “The Necessity for Prayer” so far as I only purchased the book on Friday and it is a book that you want to digest as you read it.
    God bless, Val
